The primary active chemicals known in Amanita Muscaria are Ibotenic acid, Muscimol, Muscazone, and Muscarine.  Muscimol interacts with the brain’s GABAergic system and studies have illuminated a potential role for this compound in treating pain, inflammation, anxiety, insomnia, cognitive decline and even cancer.

Amanita Muscaria, also known as Fly Agaric, is the classical Amanita mushroom that we all recognize with its bright red cap and white warts. It is a muscimol mushroom, which means it is psychoactive. All of the amanita varieties have a symbiosis with Birch, Oak and Pine.

Amanita Pantherina is among the rarer Amanita strains.  It is also a Muscimol mushroom, which means it is psychoactive, and much stronger than Amanita Muscaria.

Amanita Regalis, also known as The Royal Fly Agaric is debated to be the rarest Amanita strain. It contains the highest amount of muscimol, meaning it is also psychoactive. It is twice as strong as the Amanita Pantherina.
